Evening ritual with chamomile

A quiet evening cup, with the lights low and the day finally behind.

Steps

01

Bring the lights down

One lamp on, the overhead off. Curtains drawn. The room gets quieter before the body does.

Steep the chamomile

Two teaspoons of chamomile flowers to 250 ml of hot water. Eight minutes, covered, otherwise the essential oil escapes.

Clear out the screens

Phone in another room, tablet closed, TV off. What stays is the cup and the sound of the flat.

Drink the tea slowly

In small sips. Read one page if you want to. Look out the window if you do not. Either is right.

Note

A standard chamomile tea is usually well tolerated for adults and children from school age. With a known allergy to the daisy family, avoid chamomile and choose another evening drink.
