Ritual

Lavender foot bath

15 minAs needed, evening

A late evening ritual after a long day on your feet. A bowl, warm water, two quiet minutes.

Steps

01

Set out a wide bowl

A bowl or tub that holds both feet comfortably. Fill with warm, not hot water, around 38 degrees.

02

Add the lavender

Three to five drops of essential lavender oil into a tablespoon of cream or honey, stir well, then into the water. Drops put straight into water just float.

03

Twelve quiet minutes

Feet in, sit, leave the phone elsewhere. A book is allowed. After ten to fifteen minutes take them out and dry thoroughly.

Note

Essential oils belong on a carrier such as cream or honey, never neat on the skin. Not suitable for children under six or anyone with known fragrance sensitivities. In pregnancy, ask your midwife before using essential oils, even in a foot bath. With diabetic neuropathy or reduced sensation in the feet, test the water temperature with your hand or elbow first and skip the bath on open cuts.
